John
John has been with Metro Run & Walk since retiring from the federal government in 2004. His 35 year federal career was spent in information technology as a programmer/analyst, project manager, Deputy Director of Data Processing, Director of Systems and Programming and, later, human resources IT liaison.
A heavy smoker till the age of 30, he began running in 1978 and has since completed five Ironman distance triathlons, including Ironman USA Lake Placid twice, the Great Floridian twice, and Ironman Brazil; nine marathons; 25 ten milers; and uncountable shorter distance triathlons and road races. He’s also done the 4.4 mile Great Chesapeake Bay Swim. John is married with a full family life that includes children at home, grown kids, and two grandkids. He is also active in his synagogue.
